Product photography
is one of the most demanding things
you can do in photography.

While anyone can take a snapshot of a person or an item with an automatic camera, special care is required to make a static object look its best.

This doesn't mean the average person can't do a good job. It just means you need to understand the available tools and a few simple techniques.

The basic tools are your camera (and its support), your lighting, your background and your subject. How well you use and combine these tools is what makes a good product photo.
